Call to Action: demand Hartree divest from the Repparfjord mine!

Demand divestment from the Repparfjord mine!

Please send the following email to legal@hartreepartners.com

Dear Hartree
I am writing to you as a concerned individual and part of a growing network of people, organizations, and Indigenous representatives who are closely following the plans to establish a copper mine in Repparfjord, Sápmi (Northern Norway).
We demand that you immediately withdraw your investment from Nussir ASA/Blue Moon Metals and the Repparfjord mining project.
This project is neither legal, environmentally sustainable, socially responsible, nor ethically acceptable. Here's why:

1 Severe environmental damage to a vulnerable wild salmon fjord
The project involves dumping millions of tons of mining waste directly into Repparfjord—an ecologically rich marine environment and a nationally protected salmon fjord. This will devastate bottom-dwelling organisms, fish stocks, and the local coastal fisheries that many depend on.

2 Violation of Indigenous Peoples` and human rights
The area is traditional reindeer grazing land for Sámi herders. The Sámi Parliament and the affected reindeer herders have clearly opposed the project, and there has been no genuine consultation or consent from the Sámi people—violating United Nation Declaration of Indigenous Peoples`, ILO Convention No. 169 and the principle of Free, Prior, and Informed Consent.

3 Reputation risk and lack of social license to operate
Several actors, including the German copper giant Aurubis, have already withdrawn from the project due to ethical and sustainability concerns. Investing in a project that faces strong, legitimate opposition from Indigenous communities, local residents, and environmental groups poses both ethical and financial risks.

4 The green transition must not come at the cost of nature and human rights
Using the green transition as a justification for destroying ecosystems and violating Indigenous Peoples` rights is unacceptable. Copper must be sourced in ways that respect both people and the planet.

We therefore urge you to:
• Immediately divest from the Nussir mining project.
• Publicly state that you do not support environmental destruction or the marginalization of Indigenous communities in the name of sustainability.
• Prioritize investments that truly support a just and equitable green transition.
We will not accept that Repparfjord is sacrificed. This mining project has no social legitimacy—and we expect responsible investors like you to act accordingly.
